The fourth and final single from Eve Owen’s debut album, Don’t Let The Ink Dry (out May 8^th 2020) has dropped alongside a moving video. ‘Mother’ kicks off with hints of folk coming from the vocal-led verses and isolated guitar accompaniment. By the end of the track, experimental sonic textures have joined the guitar and created a dramatic, warming crescendo. It is the video, however, that really catches our attention this time around. Her sister Hannah (who directed the video) explains that the video wasn’t meticulously pre-planned, and came together rather naturally over the course of shooting. “We wanted to create a coming of age story by rewinding time and revisiting the ways Eve has expressed herself over time - what she has valued and how she has communicated through her artwork and photography”. - Dan Peeke [Photo credit: Chris Almeida]
